Original lacquer. Viewing the pics of the matching numbered neck indicates the condition of this tenor's lacquer at the time it was stored away. Obviously the neck was somehow protected from the atmosphere which attacked the lacquer on the body. The red oxidation on the pad cups and on limited areas of the body tells of the high copper content of this instrument's brass. Never any dent or solder repair. My new overhaul with the original metal resonators will be included. |
